The Kevin Kolb era in Philadelphia has been put on hold for now as Head Coach Andy Reid has decided to turn the keys over to Michael Vick for the foreseeable future.
You cannot deny that Vick has looked spectacular in his six quarters of action while Kolb looked like a deer in the headlights in his first half of action against Green Bay. So for now Kolb's future has been put on hold while Vick has a shot at redemption for a promising career that got derailed by his self-destructive off-field behavior.
Not to mention, given the current state of the Eagles offensive line along with the fact they lost FB Leonard Weaver for the season, the need for a mobile quarterback has never been greater and Vick certainly fits that mold.
As with most of the moves that concern this team, this change will either work out incredibly well or turn into a complete disaster. I am currently leaning toward the first scenario as the past history of the NFL has a number of examples of veteran backup QB's coming off the bench to lead their team to greatness. Vick certainly has shown he has the ability to be that guy, it is just a matter of having the O-Line and defense elevate their game as well.
