NFL Free Agents and Super Bowl Futures

While all eyes will be focused on Radio City Music Hall next Thursday night for the start of the annual NFL Draft especially us Eagles' fans with the Birds picking fourth overall in the first round, this year's free agent market has already produced some very interesting results for a number of teams.

Philadelphia has used free agency to make a concerted effort to address some pressing needs on defense especially in the secondary with the addition of linebacker Conner Barwin from Houston and a pair of safeties in Kenny Phillips from the Giants and Patrick Chung from New England. These few moves are far from solving all of the problems on this side of the ball, but hopefully Chip Kelly and Co. will do the right thing next week and use that fourth overall pick to select defensive lineman/outside linebacker Dion Jordan from Oregon if he is still on the board. This is the kind of impact player you can build a top-notch defense around (but let's save that whole discussion for another day).

In the meantime, the following is a link to a closer look at some of the biggest free-agent signings this offseason as well as their impact on the Super Bowl futures for the teams involved as originally posted on Bang the Book.
