Weekly Philadelphia Eagles Betting Picks: Week 6 vs. Lions

The main concern for every Eagles' fan this week heading into this Sunday's game against Detroit at the Linc is turnovers, more specifically Michael Vick turnovers. Anyone who has watched his first five games this season is well aware that he has had major problems taking care of the ball so far with six interceptions and five lost fumbles.

This fact alone makes it even more amazing that the Birds enter this game with a 3-2 record, but in all fairness to No.7, he has also led the team down the field on three game-winning drives and helped put it in position to beat the Steelers last Sunday.

There is a world of difference between heading into next week's bye with a 4-2 record verse being 3-3, so it becomes imperative that Vick and the Eagles take care of business as four-point home favorites and come away with a win on Sunday. Andy Reid is a perfect 13-0 following a bye week and despite that fact that Atlanta is next up on the slate, the Birds have a golden opportunity to put themselves in the NFC East driver seat heading into the second half of the season.

Earlier this year, I made a bold prediction that Philly would put it all together and hammer the Cardinals in Arizona and that turned into a complete disaster. This week I am going back out on a limb to predict that the Eagles will play their best game of the year on Sunday. The offense will once again find the end zone by grinding the ball down the field as well as getting there with a few big plays. The defense will make life miserable for Matthew Stafford and while the Lions will put some points on the board, for once we will not be forced to sit on the edge of our seats for all four quarters of a game.

The following is a link to my complete preview and prediction for Sunday's game as part of an ongoing series for Doc's Sports Service, where I assign a confidence level for my pick by using their Unit Betting System.
