Eagles vs. Bears Game Preview

The Eagles have a chance to take one step closer to winning the NFC East with a win this Sunday over Chicago. The Bears are currently 7-3 and tied with Green Bay atop the NFC North. To say that this is a surprise is a bit of an understatement after Chicago stumbled to a third place finish in the division with a 7-9 record.

This season, the Bears are getting it done with defense as they are ranked third overall and first in points allowed; giving up an average of just 14.6 points per game.

Chicago QB Jay Cutler has played much better overall, but is still susceptible to an occasional meltdown which plays right into the Eagles' ball-hawking defense. The Bears' offense is ranked 30th and 25th in scoring; averaging 19.1 points per game.

This should be a good test for Michael Vick and the rest of Philly's high-flying offense as this will be the toughest defense they have faced so far this season.

I cannot see them lighting up the Bears like they have most other teams this season, but I do see the Birds' defense having a field day pummeling Cutler. Eleven games into the season it might be time for Sean McDermott's unit to enjoy the spotlight by coming up big in Chicago.
